    Default Feedback on QueryCell

    Hi,

The SQL Drill forums are obviously a vibrant community. Alec has been gracious enough to allow me to ask you for some feedback.

I recently released QueryCell, an Excel add-in that enables you to

    - Query Excel data using SQL inside the Excel application itself.
    - Generate SQL insert statements for Excel data.
    - Generate Test / Dummy data for development and prototyping purposes.
    - Color rows based on a SQL criteria.

I would like to invite you to take a look at QueryCell - Use SQL in Excel and let me know what you think.

You can do so by replying here, or emailing me at feedback@querycell.com

Any suggestions or feedback, positive or negative, would be most appreciated.

    Cheers
    Sam Howley

    Hi Sam

Hope all is great. Just wanted to let you know that I am trying out your addin.

I only did some quick tests tonight but everything was very smooth. Install was perfect by the way.. I will get back to you with some suggestions as soon as I have some for you.

Hopefully, some other people can help out with some feedback! For anyone that is interested - please take a look at www.querycell.com

    Hi Sam

Hope all is cool. For your add-in, I found it very useful. My two cents would be that if you can find some extra functionality you will get more sales.
Possible ideas for investigation would be to add in a Query Cell User Defined Function to retrieve/manipulate data (initiating this at a cell level).
Of course you could expand the tool out to work with relational databases. Another area would be to add in a data profiling functionality to make it easy for users to profile Excel data.

Just some ideas. The above are areas for which I do have ideas too for the SQL Drill add-in too.. In any case, I hope that Query Cell will be a great success for you.
Happy Christmas and best wishes for 2010 !

Thanks for the great feedback Al.

My apologies that it's taken me a long time to reply.

    Cheers
