    Default Installation in excel 2003

    Hi There,

I've installed and used sql excel in excel 2007 with no problems. Now i'm on a machine that runs office 2003. I've installed sql excel and when I open an excel workbook...I dont see it. I cannot find where sql excell is. So I'm not sure if it installed correctly ( but I can see it in add or remove programs) or if it's hiding in excel 2003 somewhere. I'm new to this....have mercey. Is there a tutorial on useing this in 2003 starting with....where it's located?

    Hi Dan

Sorry you had the prob but thanks vm for getting back about it.

First thing I would check would be to see if the toolbar is just not visible.
You can check that by looking in VIEW and then TOOLBARS and looking for sqlexcel in the list. If it is there and not checked then you should just check it and you should be all set.

If you cant see it in the list of available toolbars, then something must have got screwed up in the installation process. That could happen for example if Excel was open when you ran the installation package..

If this is the case, please try to manually register the DLL (sqlexcel.dll)

To do so, you can select START and then RUN and then enter and run this command
regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\SQL Excel\SQLExcel.dll" (you need to replace this path with the right one for your system..)

Also, you should run this command with Excel closed... After it runs you should get a message saying that the command suceeded and when you open Excel you should be all set..

Please try that out when you get a chance and you should be fine then.

Thanks and have a nice night.
