Thread: SQL Excel "Resident"

Hi there,

When I run my SQL Excel query and then do the paste to Excel - is SQL Excel supposed to close down ??

I have a few queries I need to run each time and I have to restart SQL Excel and connect to my database again - I think when I first installed it that it remained \"resident\" after the paste to Excel but I may be wrong.

Is this a problem or is it meant to do that ??

I did not forget about the other issue (where the number of characters caused a problem) but I have not make progress on it yet. I am guessing this is the same for you. This is basically my top issue to resolve... If you you made some progress on this please let me know.


For the pasting, that is right.
If you hit the \"paste\" button, the main form will close after the data is pasted.
If you hit the \"Execute\" button - the resultset will be displayed in the form (the form will remain open...)

The development version of the addin does have an options form and it seems like a good idea to add in an option to store what the default behaviour of the form is after hitting the \"paste\" button. This way, please could set it to \"not close\" or something like that and could paste several blocks of data in one shot (without the form closing).
